Form 1116 was supposed to be available for E-File on 3/3. NOT if you have FTC C/O!!! (mysterious Schedule B)

Support's Recommendation??? PAPER FILE!! Or WAIT for 31 MARCH!!

NOT AN OPTION!!! IRS REQUIRES E-FILE for Preparers

Drake Software have this sorted out already. What's going on with Intuit Proseries??

Actually the IRS requirement for preparers relates to them FILING THE CLIENTS RETURN.

The IRS does not make this clearly understandable, but the requirement does not attach to PREPARING the return.

Example - The PREPARER mailing the return is considered filing.

The CLIENT mailing the return is not a filing by the PREPARER.

none of that changes that waiting for the 1116 schedule b is a PITA

Update: Form 1116 Sch B, Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule is now estimated to be ready for print on 3/10.

Although Form 1116 Sch B is not supported for e-file, you will be able to E-File returns with the 1116 Schedule B attached as a PDF, once that form is finalized.
