Question

Our clients are getting late filing notices for returns we filed paper extensions on, which were rec'd by IRS before the deadline, does anyone know if IRS will correct?

No humans were there to process paper filings for quite some time....so the computers are on auto pilot sending out notices.   

Im guessing once they  work through the 10 million pieces of mail that they have waiting to be processed, timely postmarks will get input into the system and void out these penalty notices.
