MD withholding on the proceeds of the sale of real estate property

Hi,

I have never filed a MD non resident tax return and I seem to be having difficulty doing so. Client sold an investment property in MD , resides in virginia. There was 9k tax withheld at closing. How to file  for exemption of MD withholding.

You request the exemption from the Comptroller's office directly; not with a nonresident tax return.
