Is there a way to update last year e file acknowledgement on a new computer.

Is there a way to update e file acknowledgements from last year? I am using a new computer so the only backup I have is the client file on a USB drive. I am trying to E File an amended return from 2019 but it wont allow me to because there is no e file acknowledgement on the present computer.

Any ideas?

OK one more try - try highlighting (selecting) all of the files before you go to the update status step.

I have done it..not sure but I think all I had to do was got to the ef center homebase page and have it receive acknowledgements.

Click on Efile from that homebase, then highilght electronic filing, and select receive acknowledgement statuses.

Hope my memory is good today and that works for you.

Every Client is "Marked for E-File"

Did you try the "update acknowledged status" choice?

If that doesn't work I guess I can not remember how I did it last year.
