IRS Check my refund status upgraded

Holy Cow! Did you know we can now choose which one of the last 3 years we want refund status for ?!!!?

I almost peed myself from the excitement.

Of course, I'm aggravated for the real reason I went there. Client received ID verification letter for 2021 tax return. Why? Client - MFJ, not recently married, not moved, however it is a large refund - so what! I don't understand the need to do an ID verification. Client does not have a computer - heck, doesn't even have electricity.

As a side note, I have had to fax W-2s for two clients this year in order for the IRS to process their returns. The one client normally has a sizable balance due, so I'll cut a little slack on that one. The other one tends to have larger refunds. Same address, same employer, same, same, same. Only the year has changed. I had to send his W-2 last year too. Why oh why?
