In the 2018 proseries, I closed a 2018 file in the 2017 file that I had previously transferred . Can I can transfer a 2017 file to the 2018 proseries again?
I closed the 2018 input into the 2017 file.

What do you mean "closed input"? You need to delete the 2018 file in order to transfer 2017 back into 2018.
