Question

In Pro-series filing status under qualify Widower, why isn't it asking for spouse info, instead is asking for child's information instead. Is this a error?

Did IRS changed about the widower filing status, you must include your child's name and ssn to qualified?

Previously, it's the deceased information such as the name, ssn and date of death.  Can someone clarify?

Qualifying Widow status requires a dependent.
The deceased info does not appear on the return.

From an IRS Explanation page I found.

"Surviving spouses who have a dependent child may be able to use the Qualifying Widow(er) status in the
two tax years following the year of the spouse’s death."

So since it you have to have a dependent child, the IRS wants you to list it.
