IDENTITY IRS PIN- SPOUSE DIED DIED IN NOVEMBER 2025- preparing 2025 joint return

hi everyone.

doing a joint return where husband and wife recieved each  their own IRS identity pin . Sadly, husband died in November 2025.  Dead husband did not get a ID pin for 2025. I assume SS office notified IRS.

Can I Efile 2025 joint return  where wife has ID pin and leave dead husband ID pin blank?

you can try, but Im guessing the IRS computers will kick it back, you'll probably end up paper filing.
