How to delete a duplicate tax return, it won't let you efile with duplicate SSN's

I had to change a client from Head of Household to MFJ, her social security number shows up on the old tax return and the new MFJ, it won't let me efile saying "Duplicate SSN"...please advise.

Either go to the regular 1040 view and highlight the file and delete it 

OR 

open the file an uncheck the EF boxes on it (be sure to switch over to the state return if one is involved before saving/exiting the file).

Both of these options will make that red duplicate message go away.
