Question

How do I enter a1099-r that has box 1 and 2a with the same amount, Line 2b box not determined is checked, box 7 has code 4 (death) and Ira simple box is checked?

The client is age 75.  Her deceased husband inherited the IRA from his Father and he is now deceased and she has inherited it from him.   Thank you!

Assuming there was no basis in the inherited IRA, it should be as easy as it seems.  Just enter the numbers in the boxes and be sure to check the box in the Inherited IRA section of the 1099-R Wks for "Someone other than spouse".
