Change Federal Filing Status from Dependent to Claim Themself on State

My Client qualifies as a dependent for her federal filing status but is best served to claim herself on her state return. How do I override the status so she can take a personal exemption, especially since she's over 65?

Shes either a dependent or she isnt.

    Not true, filing status for state and federal can be different.
