Cannot electronically transmit a tax return, FED and NYS? I've tried 1-5-21 and 1-6-21

Why can't I transmit any returns? I've tried 1/5/21 and1/6/21.

Because the IRS shut down efiling. Business return efiling reopens Jan 8. Individuals reopen at some to be announced date in January.

Are you a new preparer? IRS doesnt open for Efiling 1040s until near the end of January every year.
