Can you deduct rent expense for a W-2 employee that he pays personally? Where?

Office Space 2 days a week.  His employer won't let him work from home so he has to rent office space in order to be closer to home.  Proseries is the software I use.

So he doesn't want to work out of the employer's office?  In any case, he can't deduct anything on the federal return this year.
