amendment filed so son could file and claim prop tax credit in vermont, son’s return rejected cause irs says he was claimed as dependent but amendment should have erased that claim

When was the amendment filed? It takes about 6 months to work through the system. Son can file on paper.

What does “disabled” have to do with it?  HOH without a claimed dependent is allowed for a custodial parent when the exemption is released to the one paying child support.  Is that what happened here?  But did it make any difference on mother’s return, if she filed single rather than HOH?

seems the point was to allow son to get a property tax credit.
