Amending a NYS 2018 tax return

I'm having trouble filing a New York State amended 2018 tax return.  I don't need to file a Federal 2018 return just NY but when I go to efile it says the return is not ready.  I have no error messages when I review but still it won't let me file.

On the federal info worksheet you have to remove the check mark for electronic filing of federal. The other issue is going to be that the EF center is going to complain (Fe error checking) because there will be multiple returns with same SSN. You’ll probably have to remove or change SSN in the original return. 

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround
