Am I able to file an amended return to correct a file 1065 filing? Client told me it was the last year, but then they decided to keep it open without telling me. Can I just file an amended return and uncheck the "final return" box?

You can only file an amended return if the partnership was not subject to the Consolidated Audit Procedures.

Wouldn't you have to do more than check the box? For example, how were the capital accounts and balance sheet zeroed out?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

It basically had no activity with no balances. Paying to keep it open
