Activate Form 8878A (authorize to efile 7004 w/ payment)?

I do not know what I'm missing but this is a new form for me... trying to extend a 1041 with a payment. Here's what I've done -

selected efiling extension on the Information Wks

selected to freeze the 7004 with amount of extension payment

selected "Yes" on electronic funds withdrawl information

The form 8878A doesn't activate and I can't figure how how to get the info from the 7004 to flow over.

Hope someone can show me my ignorance!!! Ugh! Thank you in advance!!

Make sure that you have also checked the "Ext" box on the line for Federal Form 1041 under "Choose Returns to be Filed Electronically" in Part VI of the Information Worksheet.

This sounds like it could be the missing data point that will generate the 8878A as well as the 7004 EF Wks for you.

It’s not ignorance…..The software for Extending 1041 w $$ is extremely finicky… usually takes me 3 or 4 tries…if im lucky

At bottom of info page you have to select N/A under all the payroll forms…. i run final review and look for anything showing up in red, enter preparer codes/pins and answer every question asked… might as well just complete and file the return… amend later if you need to
