A child born on the last day of the year i.e. Dec. 31, 2018..can the unwed mother claim HOH , EIC and CTC as well ?

Yep (assuming she meets all of the other requirements).

That is a great day to have a baby.  They make such a big deal about the "new year's baby", but all I think about is the lost tax benefits for the year.

Just to clarify, you said "unwed mother" and "husband", which doesn't make sense.

Did you mean "father", rather than "husband"?
