Generate Form 1116 from Schedule D

puravidapto

A US person sold a property in India generating a long term capital gain. I should report this transaction in Schedule D, however, there is no way to generate form 1116 from there. We can generate form 1116 from dividend input field, https://accountants.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/form-1116/entering-foreign-taxes-paid-gene... , but not from capital gain.

It is different to do it manually as the line 1a (foreign income) and line 18 (total taxable income) needs adjustments due to that the foreign income is subject to a lower rate.

The numeric result is the same if I put the net gain as qualified dividend, but it should be reported in Schedule D with purchase date, sale date, selling expenses, etc.
