Oregon Form OR-20-S: how to select excise tax vs income tax

K_CPA
Level 2

Beat my head against the wall today trying to figure out how to make ProConnect file Oregon OR-20-S for excise tax instead of income tax. This is important because the excise tax has a minimum tax of $150 that the income tax does not. As another poster pointed out, OR will let you know if you file the wrong type...

Unfortunately when you're in form view & you click on "excise tax" it doesn't take you to the proper input screen, so just wanted to post here for anyone else beating their head against the wall.

To select "excise" or "income" tax go to "General" > "Client Information" > then scroll all the way to the bottom where your state options are. There you'll find a drop-down to select the type of tax you are subject to.
