If I file a federal return and then file the state return later, does that use 1 credit or 2?

My clients want to file their federal returns now to get the federal returns, but they want to wait on the state returns to avoid having to possibly file an amended state return.

I want to know if the delay between filings will incur another charge from proconnect?

thanks, K.

Hi @kgardner58, no filing the state at a later date will not incur another credit usage.  Credits are bill by the taxpayer identification number with one credit handling the Federal/State original returns.  However, if you were to file an amended return that would incur an additional credit usage as it would be a 2nd return.  If you need further assistance, please contact Proconnect Support .
