I have a client who was not able to get the SS#s for their twins (born in 2020) until last year (2022). If I understand correctly, all the stimulus checks and Child credits require the SS to be issued before the tax date. Is this correct? Is there any reason that they should now file amended returns for the previous 2 years? What would be the potential benefits?
