Why is the 1040-X listed as an applicable form and why is it triggering a diagnostic that it is included in the return?

Head to Miscellaneous Forms > Amended Returns (1040-X)/Superseded > General Information and Federal (1040X) and make sure the box for "Amending federal return" on the input screen is not checked.

That was not it. it was in the profile section of the return. Apparently it was a known issue for some converted returns the 1040 X was selected for efile in the profile, which is what caused it to show as being part of the return

You likely converted from another software. Go to Profile and look for check marks for amending. Remove those checkmarks.

Someday the software will hopefully quit doing this to ALL CONVERSIONS.
