Question

Where to enter foreign earned income to form 1040 line 1h from ProConnect

I try to enter foreign earned income but will use Foreign Tax Credit method instead of exclusion.  I need to enter foreign earned income to form 1040 line 1h Other Unearned Income via ProConnect.  However, I could not find the place to enter.  I entered income to form 1116, but it did not link to 1h. If I entered to W2 box 1, ProConnect need EIN number to efile the tax return.  If I entered Misc income, it is linked to sch 1, and will not be qualified for refundable child tax credit.  Anyone know how to fix this issue?  Do you have any experience can share with me for using Proconnect to enter foreign income and foreign tax credit? thanks.

Is it wages?

In the W-2 input section isn't there input for foreign employer/no W-2 or something like that?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Yes, it's foreign wage, there is no EIN available, so cannot be efiled.  It should be entered in 1040 line 1h instead of 1a.  but cannot find space to enter in Proconnect.  Customer service also could not resolve the issue.
