Client sold investment property in Japan and paid a lot of foreign tax, how do I make sure it’s on form 1116,

In other words it won’t link. Get out your pencil & the directions since you’ll have to calculate the adjustment and input  - assuming this is long-term capital gain.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
