Can you file MFJ on federal and MFS on a combined KY return?

I see there is a tax savings on a KY return by filing MFJ on federal and MFS on a combined KY return.  How do I choose that KY filing in ProConnect? I noticed TurboTax Desktop does it automatically.

  1. Go to General > Misc. Info./Direct Deposit;
  2. On the input screen, click on the KY tab;
  3. Scroll down to the Kentucky Miscellaneous section; and
  4. On the line for Kentucky filing status [Override], select 6 = Married Filing Separately Combined
