Need to be able to save multiple versions of a client's file

We often need to have multiple versions of a client's file, to be able to name the versions and to be able to do all this with a since REP.

For example:  as extended, as originally filed, as amended.

Currently the only way to do this is to make a copy of the file with a different client number.

Currently the only way to be able to run all the versions is to change the FEIN to 9's and get separate rep access for each file.

CCH has this feature built into their program so Lacerte should be able to do it too!

For multiple versions of a return I have them saved to different directories such as one labeled Amendments, another called Workups, another called Other for each tax year.  Don't have to get REP again unless states changed.
