That's the amount of adoption benefits that's not excludable. Did you check page 2 of your F.8839 and follow the numbers?

On Lacerte 1040 Line one there is a Code "AB 15,000" in Blue that is adding income to Salary & Wages - there is no worksheet. The amount and code are on the dotted line. Why is $15K is being added to wages that is not reported on any W-2. The couple did adopt in 2018 and received $7500 from employer but nothing different other than adoption for prior year
