My experience is that this will need to be a paper filed state return.

Even TurboTax won't let you do it https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3157266-it-says-i-cannot-e-file-because-my-state-withholding-was-more-than-50-of-wages-is-this-the-case-even-if-we-are-filing-jointly

It shows youre using Lacerte, but you chose the Topic of your question as ProSeries Product Question...which tax software are you using?

@bobfaycpa I am unclear on your question. Are the state wages really zero, or they just are incorrectly showing as zero.
Is this a multi-state return?

Yes the state wages are really -0- but there is state withholding

So they withheld FL state tax? or state tax from the state they moved away from?

So you are filing a nonresident return for the state with the withholding? Get the client to have this changed ASAP.
The more I know the more I don’t know.
