General partnership, no SOS #. How do I get rid of the diagnostic?

    Call the FTB to get the FTB Assigned Identification Number. They sent out notices a few years ago about this.

    @radio4 I thought, as OP states, that General Partnerships, though they be few and far between nowadays, do not actually have a CA SOS #

    I agree with you, they do not have a CA SOS #. Maybe I didn't really answer OP's question.

    I recall getting this diagnostic during tax year 2022 and having to call the FTB to get an Assigned ID Number for my client. The diagnostic would clear after using the FTB Assigned ID Number.

    The workaround (because of course there is a workaround) is to go to Screen 37.011 and enter "Other Reason" for the reason for not having a SOS#.
