No penalty & interest calculation for CA LLC 568 filing as a partnership when form 3522 or Form 3536 payments are not made

My clients who have CA LLC’s that file as partnerships often miss their minimum tax or minimum fee estimated payments.  There is a place in a partnership return (Screen 37) to indicate they did not pay at all. However, unlike EVERY OTHER MODULE Lacerte has, there is not “Date Filed” field, “Date Paid” field, or “Penalties & Interest” screen or field for automatic calculation.  There is an amount box for you to calculate your own P&I and enter the amount.  This is absolutely unacceptable. It would be SO easy to put in a date filed or gosh forbid, a place to indicate that the estimate was paid, but paid late for automatic calculation.  Can someone please make this make sense?  Lacerte - DO BETTER!

Hi @Kris J Thanks for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. We understand how having automatic penalty and interest calculations for California LLC Form 568 partnership returns, similar to other areas of Lacerte, would help streamline the workflow.

We've submitted an enhancement request for this to the appropriate product development team for evaluation as they consider future improvements.

We appreciate you taking the time to let us know where the current process can be improved. Feedback like yours helps inform future product enhancements.
