Is a state refund taxable if taxpayer received a refund from more than one state? They were part year residents due to military.

This is a new client to me so I am doing the state refund worksheet to see how much of the prior year state refund is taxable. The client lived in two states due to military. Is a state refund taxable if taxpayer received a refund from more than one state?

Whether the refund comes from one or more state is not relevant.  If the taxpayer itemized and there was tax benefit from the refund(s), that part of the tax refund(s) for which the taxpayer received tax benefit would be taxable.
