Georgia Film Tax Credits and E-filing

Hi,

Is there a way to e-file Georgia on a corporate return that is utilizing Georgia Film Tax Credits?  After entering the credit amounts, there’s an e-file diagnostic “Georgia Credit Usage and Carryovver Schedule has film credit codes 133 or 122.  Please enter the necessary information to file Form IT-FC (ref #2049392)”

I have worked in CCH Axcess before, and I would never get an issue like this.  Trying to find some clarity and ways to utilize the 122 code without any e-filing issues.

Thank you,

Alex

Hi @Azaz298 great to see you in the Community, and thanks for posting about diagnostic ref #2049392 in Lacerte.

This diagnostic will not prevent the return from being e-filed.

For additional guidance on the requirements we’d recommend reviewing the Georgia instructions for Form IT-FC.

You can also click the diagnostic from the Diagnostics tab in Lacerte. This will take you directly to Screen 49.205, Georgia IT-FC, where you can enter the applicable information for Form IT-FC to resolve the diagnostic.

Hi Kathi,

I’ve already gone through the diagnostics.  It’s requiring the filing of the Georgia IT-FC, but the instructions are not applicable to this taxpayer.  Is there another way to bypass this without the filing of the Georgia IT-FC? I’ve been able to do with other softwares.

Thank you,

Alex

Hi @Azaz298 thanks for the update. The diagnostic that is generating for the IT-FC will not stop the return from being e-filed. The ones that will start with e-file:. Here is an example:

If you unable to e-file the return, look for diagnostics that have the e-file:. If you need further assistance with this, please reach out to Lacerte Support.
