Efile shutdown...wasn't it supposed to be midnight?

That's the IRS' cutoff but tax software like Intuit's locks down their system earlier because they need to make sure there is sufficient time to process and transmit those returns.  See the recent announcement on this: https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/lacerte-tax-news-updates/discussion/irs-announces-individual-1040-mef-production-shutdown/00/105386

    But, of course, 9pm is probably a bit early compared to other tax software.
