Can anyone get the 2016 CA individual module to accept a 2017 NOL carryback for an amended 2016 return? Lacerte technical support can't
It can absolutely be done using overrides on the CA 540X but beware - the tax calculation appears to be incorrect with overrides working as desired.
the proper CA NOL input screen is 15.011, but the loss year field will only accept 1987 - 2015.
There is no similar problem with the federal individual program.
