I found this help link https://accountants.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/form-1040/check-box-treat-nonresident-dual-status-alien-us/L2A9yEq2g_US_en_US?uid=mnkddyw7 The only problem is that it does not match the screen for the current year program. Maybe @Kathi_at_Intuit can get an update or tell us where to look.

Hi @George4Tacks Thanks so much for the tag!

@Sue81 We’ve looked into this and can confirm that this will not be supported in Lacerte for TY25. As you mentioned, if this box needs to be checked, the return will need to be paper filed. Our development team is aware of the request and continues to evaluate potential enhancements, but there is currently no ETA for if or when this may be implemented.

Try Screen 58.1... it's tied to F 1040-NR.

Type 'dual citizen' in the search box, you'll get an Intuit help screen

Thanks for the tip, abctax55. However, I didn't find the input field in 1040-NR screen. This is a Dual-Status return for a taxpayer who got green card in 2025. I've noted "Duel-Status Return" in screen 3 (Misc. Info.) but couldn't find the input file for form 1040 line 12c (You were a dual-status alien)
