1040-X overpayment applied to 2021

Client paid 1040 balance due.  Amended return causes an overpayment which the client wants to apply to 2021.  Screen 59 check box does not work.  Overpayment is still in 'refund.'

Screen 7 apply overpayment to 2021 refers to the 1040 not the 1040-X and causes a critical diagnostic.

Called Lacerte 2 separate times - no help there!

In addition to checking the box Apply 1040-X overpayment to 2021 estimated tax on Screen 59, you need to complete Apply overpayment to 2021 prompt on Screen 7 – General Information.

    Yes, I had tried that repeatedly and got a critical diagnostic.  BUT when I changed to '7' apply to whole refund, no estimates and set estimate options to '1' it worked!  Whew.  Thanks for the response.
